ExHuman - second volet du diptyque InHuman/ExHuman -, expose l'autre face de DIE FORM où les sons et la thématique sont davantage orientés vers l'abstraction, l'électronique et la géométrie. Toujours à la recherche de nouvelles expérimentations, les voix ont fait l'objet d'hybridations et les sonorités futuristes ont été mixées avec des sons analogiques traditionnels. Trois nouveaux vidéo-clips sont également présents sur le DVD qui accompagne l'édition originale en format livre-CD/DVD A5. Le livret est composé de photogrammes et d'images mettant en scène corps et objets dans des décors aux accents cubistes. [read more]
The Visionary Garden 2 book...
La photographie est cette aptitude à suspendre le flux assassin du temps. Plus que toute autre expression de l’art, cette captivité d’une lumière signifiante rend compte de l’obsessionnelle vanité de l’homme qui prétend saisir la vérité de l’instant et l’instant lui-même. Ce « coin de la création vu à travers un tempérament »1 est sublimé par l’intelligence de l’œil qui ne cherche pas tant à restituer le réel qu’à le composer. Ce ne sont point là les attributs usuels de ce Dieu créateur dont l’artiste est le prophète ; le photographe ne sera jamais ce grand horloger ordonnateur de la vie, mais le regard extralucide du poète – ce qu’il est avant tout – qui s’attache à rééduquer nos sens – et pas uniquement la vue – par l’émergence nouvelle d’une réalité temporairement dissimulée par l’apathique quotidien – regarder les choses, c’est en effet, finir par ne plus les voir. Le réel et le dédale qui le compose n’existent pas dans l’absolu ; c’est précisément la conscience que nous en avons qui actualisera ce potentiel de vie. La photographie serait donc à la fois l’art d’un présent duratif, la matérialisation subjective de l’idée et la réaffirmation d’une potentialité existentielle. [read more]

About Photogrammes...
L’expérience volontaire de la douleur est intrinsèquement humaine. Elle naît de la clairvoyance tragique et désespérée de l’homme qui admet la réalité manifeste de la mort. Il ne s’agit plus de feindre cette destinée que l’on réserve aux autres. Feinte ou vérité instinctive que l’homme pose d’emblée comme postulat : dès lors que la mort sera, nous ne serons plus. Pourquoi craindre alors ce à quoi nous ne serons jamais confrontés ? Ce n’est pas tant la mort que l’idée même de la mort qu’il faut appréhender car elle seule constitue la source inaltérable de nos plus pesantes lamentations. Nous tentons, en fins stratèges, de la masquer à notre esprit et la jeunesse, suprême alliance, parvient à alimenter ce mensonge décisif. Le temps cependant fait son œuvre et pèse chaque jour davantage sur notre conscience. La mort aussi. Il ne s’agit donc pas d’en subir les affres, de l’attendre dans cette passivité naïve qui nous fait vainement espérer sa clémence. La mort, il n’y a que les vivants qui en souffrent et si « un autre jour est une autre vie » 1, nul ne doit oublier qu’il s’agit d’une vie en moins.  [read more]

Philippe Fichot is the creator of Die Form, and has been a photographer for more than 15 years. His work is almost always in black & white, described as being, "an exploration of the subconscious of eroticism and of the dark poetry of the human body." An artist whose work continually seeks to expose the ultimate beauty, Philippe Fichot has mastered the use of light and shade, as well as darkroom manipulation, to an extreme degree. [read more]

DIE FORM / Suspiria de Profundis
Originating way back in the early Eighties. Philippe Fichot's Die Form project overtly brought the issue of sex into music. The use of extreme graphics, often using his partner Eliane in the role of agent provocateur, brings forth all the images of inspiration from the likes of De Sade, Lautrearnont and Bataille. The music itself falls onto many levels, both signaling commercial electronic attitudes and soundtrack material, the latter of course being perfect for those sado-masochistic tendencies. But, it's the openness of Die Form which I find most appealing. No other band has dealt with, what the general public would regard as perverted issues so well, certainly none using electro-pop material to convey their personal thoughts and expressions.
