DIE FORM / Extremum/XX
After 3 years of research, this new project marking a rupture with "Duality" and the previous albums, wants to be a reflection on the absurd, the madness, the excessiveness.
It is also about a look on the past century, the real and the unreal, the manipulations, the barbarity and the (de)construction of the body.
Extremum represents a sound peak, a mathematical extreme, while XX could be, besides the excess, a representation of the 20th century that ends, the double X of censorship, but also the double place of a crime, a double cross of Saint Andre, the symbol of 20 = 2 0 = duality and emergence. More merely, XX represents also the symmetry.
New hybrid techniques have been used, in order to generate sound textures from enlarged fragments of pictures. These pictures themselves (de)composed of real and artificial elements, of traditional silver prints, of organic elements, x-ray and magnetic resonant imaging (MRI) done from our body.
So the original picture was metamorphosed, giving birth to multiples sound and visual variations, keeping the trace of its filigreed genesis forever.
The standard edition will be completed by a limited double vinyl picture disc and by a limited 1999 copies A5 Digibox with a 32 pages booklet, from which 99 copies will be accompanied by a signed original art copperplate engraving.
More than ever, the picture became indissociable of the sound and vice-versa...
